Update 24th October 2025
There continues to be a lot of progress on site. When it is completed, The Link Centre will be a new hub for our community, offering brilliant spaces for community events, concerts & conferences. It will also continue to be the home of Ashbourne Methodist Church, where we will offer regular worship activities. Within the building, Gateway Lodge will provide high-quality, affordable guest accommodation in en-suite rooms.
Here’s a selection of photos from the latest site visit:
~The new boiler room is nearly finished – this together with the new heating system and air-source heat pumps will make a significant improvement to our eco-performance.
~In the Link foyer the walls for the new meeting rooms are built
~In Gateway Lodge the new double-glazed windows are installed.
~Also in Gateway Lodge, you can see the heat recovery units in the ventilation system. The new windows and heat recovery units will also contribute to our improved eco-performance
~In the Link foyer, steel work for the lift shaft is in place
~Plastering is progressing giving a beautiful finish in both Gateway Lodge and Cornerstone.
~New materials continue to arrive on site, including the steel for the new living area for Gateway Lodge.
~Door frames for Gateway Lodge are also being delivered to site, ready for installation in the coming days.
All of the work is part of Ashbourne Reborn - you can find out more about the programme at www.ashbournereborn.co.uk
The Ashbourne Reborn proposals originated from businesses and community groups within the town. Ashbourne Reborn is a partnership scheme involving Ashbourne Town Team, Ashbourne Town Council and AshCom, with delivery of the Highways and Public Realm project being led by Derbyshire County Council and the Link Community Hub by Ashbourne Methodist Church.
