Update 17th January 2025
There’s been lots happening on The Link Project, with the main contractors making really good progress. Here are some photos from a site visit earlier this week.
Photos show:
- the worship area after the removal of the old heating pipes, radiators, staging & curved screen
- decorative columns and ornamentation in the worship area, which has been revealed by the removal of walls (what was previously toilets and the foyer)
- members of the team during the site visit
- inside Gateway Lodge - the old mezzanine floor has been removed, as have the walls of bedrooms and kitchen, ready to create the new layout.
- The Century Hall kitchen is currently being demolished and will be rebuilt. The roof has already been fully removed.
- A pit has been dug down to lower floor level, examining ground conditions, with the waste material used to make access for construction equipment. This is the area where the new Link Centre foyer and meeting rooms will be located.
All of the work is part of Ashbourne Reborn - you can find out more about the programme at www.ashbournereborn.co.uk
