Friday 2 May 7.30pm, a A Home-Grown Poetry Evening at St Oswald’s Church Hall
Peter Dawson, local Ashbourne area poet and member of Ashbourne Methodist Church will host a free evening of poetry. Cath Brown will also entertain us on the piano.
People are invited to bring a poem (or two) that they have written themselves and share it with everyone else. If you prefer to bring poetry written by someone else that's fine or just come along and appreciate others' creative impulses!
Peter strongly believes there are a lot of "unheard" poets out there and this is a warm invitation to come along and share.
We hope there will be a variety of poetic input about anything that is thought worth writing about! It should be fun.
This event is free to all and will include tea, coffee and soft drinks in the interval.

Thursday 8 May 12noon Fish and Chip Church at St Oswald’s Hall

Thursday 22 May 7.30pm, 'Meet Mary' at Brailsford Chapel, a play by Tracy Dawson
This is a two act play, with a break after the first act for comfort break for audience.
Mary is a woman, mother who shares either the audience her life experiences, her childhood, her meeting Joseph and where many believe her story began.
She shares being a young mum, stories of a young Jesus and his siblings. How, as he grew she dealt with his spiritual growth as well as his teenagerdom.
His ministry and the effect this had on her and those close to her.
Then this final days before His crucifixion and then beyond. A woman who not only speaks throughout the ages as the mother of God, but is also recognised here as a mother of her children, a woman whose love can reach down the thousands of years.
